Revelry

A Lord of Misrule could preside over the entertainment: someone given mock authority to organise revelry. Sir Toby resembles this figure when he encourages drinking and singing in Olivia's household. His freedom is attractive, but Shakespeare also explores what happens when temporary misrule becomes selfishness or cruelty.
