Penal servitude

After their conviction for Achmet’s murder, the three Sikhs receive life sentences of penal servitude. Small is condemned to death, but his sentence is later commuted to penal servitude for life. He eventually proposes that Sholto and Captain Morstan help them escape in exchange for a share of the treasure.
