Jester

Stephano is Alonso’s butler, a servant associated with the household’s drink; Trinculo is the king’s jester. After the shipwreck, they encounter Caliban and become involved in a plan to murder Prospero and rule the island. Their drunken misunderstandings provide comedy, but their behaviour also exposes greed, cruelty and the desire to dominate others.
