Forced collectivisation

This episode echoes resistance to Stalin’s forced collectivisation, which brought individual farms under state control. Some peasants destroyed livestock or withheld produce rather than surrendering it. Forced collectivisation disrupted agriculture and contributed to catastrophic famine in 1932–33, including the Ukrainian famine.
