Revise: Paper 2 Question 7b: comparing ideas and perspectivesIt is worth 14 marks and assesses AO3: comparing writers’ ideas and perspectives and the ways these are conveyed across texts. The question gives you a particular theme. In June 2023, that theme was escape; your answer needed to explore the writers’ attitudes towards escape, not compare everything you noticed in the extracts.

In Pearson Edexcel English Language 2.0, Paper 2 Question 6 is worth 16 marks and assesses AO3: comparing writers’ ideas and perspectives and how they convey them. You compare the main ideas, the points of view and their presentation, using evidence from both whole extracts.
