A reason someone might give for opposing the writer’s position.
Revise: Arguing a viewpointTotal: 30/40.** Its position is consistently clear, the paragraphs develop connected ideas, the evidence is relevant and the counter-argument is answered. Its tone suits school-magazine readers, and its contrasts and repeated sentence openings reinforce the argument.

A counter-argument is a reason against your position. For this speech, a credible objection is that restrictions can keep young people safe. Dismissing everyone who supports rules as controlling would make the argument less convincing.
