Revise: Natural and manufactured timbersFibres and particles can come from waste or lower-grade timber, although plywood is built from thin wood veneers. Their structures differ, so their properties differ too.
Do not assume all manufactured boards are waterproof or have no grain: plywood contains veneers with grain, and water resistance depends on the board and adhesive.
