Revise: Shaping ProcessesShearing cuts metal between edges that pass one another. Snips work rather like scissors and suit thin sheet metal, not thick bar. They offer a quick, low-cost way to cut a sheet-metal blank, but can distort the sheet and leave sharp edges.
