Revise: Force magnitude and directionA lever is a rigid bar that turns about a fulcrum, or pivot. The effort is the applied input force; the load is the force or resistance being overcome. The order of a lever depends on which of these three lies between the other two.
Identify a lever by which part is in the middle: fulcrum, load or effort. Its appearance or orientation does not determine its order.
