DIL package

A dual in-line IC package, or DIL package, contains an integrated circuit and has two parallel rows of connection pins. The package arrangement affects how it fits onto the circuit board. PIC microcontrollers are programmable integrated circuits used to control systems, so the selected component must provide the functions the design needs.
