Revise: Surface Treatments and FinishesAfter cleaning and degreasing, apply a suitable primer. Its role is to help the later paint adhere to the metal. An undercoat may then be used to help achieve an even, rich colour.
For painting, explain why cleaning, degreasing and priming are needed rather than simply listing them.
