Revise: Cranks and SlidersA crank and slider mechanism connects these two kinds of motion. It can convert rotary motion into reciprocating motion, or work in reverse to convert reciprocating motion into rotary motion. It transfers force as well as movement.
In a labelled sketch, show the connecting rod joining the crank to the slider, and a guide that restricts the slider to a straight path.
The stroke is twice the crank radius for an in-line mechanism, not twice the connecting-rod length.
