Revise: Energy storage systemsA battery transfers energy from a chemical store to an electrical circuit. This allows a product to work without a continuous connection to mains electricity. Batteries power small electronic devices, and rechargeable battery systems can also power large vehicles.
Do not claim that rechargeable batteries last forever or have no environmental impact. Their benefit is that repeated use can reduce the number of replacement batteries needed.
Ordinary single-use alkaline batteries should not be recharged.
