GCSE Design and Technology · key term
A person who contributes money to support a crowdfunding project.
Used by AQA
Paper 1
Revise: EnterprisePeople who support the project are called backers. They may be offered a reward, such as receiving the product once it has been manufactured. On a target-based platform, reaching the target allows the project to receive funding; the precise arrangements depend on the platform.
When evaluating crowdfunding, consider both the designer and the backers. Raising enough money does not guarantee successful manufacture.
