A heat treatment that increases the strength and hardness of suitable alloys through solution treatment, quenching and ageing.

Component 1

Duralumin is an aluminium alloy containing copper and magnesium. It can be strengthened by age hardening. Rivets are an example of its use: the material can be processed before ageing develops its final strength.
