Paper 1
Revise: Client-Server and Peer-to-PeerClient-server and peer-to-peer are two different models. These labels describe computer roles, not the geographical area covered by the network or the physical arrangement of its connections. A school LAN, for example, can use a client-server model.
A computer or program that provides services to clients over a network.
Compare roles directly: a client requests services from a server, whereas a peer can both request and provide resources.
Link advantages to their cause: central file storage makes central backups easier, rather than simply saying client-server is ‘better’.
If a server fails, explain that the services it provides become unavailable; do not assume every computer stops working.
