A data structure that groups related named fields describing one entity. Its fields may contain different data types.

Revise: Using Records to Store DataA record groups related named fields about one entity. An entity is the single thing being described: here, one book. Each field holds one attribute, or characteristic, of that entity.
A row in a database table containing related data about one item or entity.
A collection of related fields describing one entity, such as one student or one book.
When designing a record, give meaningful field names, suitable example values and the data type of each value. All fields should describe the same entity.
Distinguish a field from a record: a field stores one attribute, while the complete record groups the attributes of one entity.
Distinguish all fields from all records: SELECT * returns all fields; omitting WHERE returns all records.
