Revise: Forms of AttackPhishing is a common example. An attacker sends a fraudulent email that appears to come from a trusted organisation. It might claim that an account urgently needs checking and provide a link to a fake login page.
Phishing tricks a person into revealing information; brute force repeatedly tests possible passwords. Both may obtain account access, but their methods differ.
