A register that stores the results of calculations performed by the ALU.

The ACC holds a calculation result, not the address of where that result might later be stored.

The CPU register that temporarily stores results of calculations carried out by the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU).

For a register question, state both its purpose and what it stores. PC and MAR store addresses; MDR and ACC store contents rather than addresses.

Link the accumulator specifically to results produced by the ALU, rather than saying only that it stores data.
