Revise: Blood Glucose ControlIn Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas fails to produce sufficient insulin. This usually happens because the immune system destroys insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Without enough insulin, glucose uptake and storage are not stimulated adequately, so glucose remains in the blood.
