Relative molecular mass

Definition

The sum of the relative atomic masses of all the atoms in a molecule. Relative molecular mass, $M_r$ , has no unit.

Going down Group 7, relative molecular mass, melting point and boiling point all increase. Relative molecular mass is the sum of the relative atomic masses of the atoms in a molecule. Since each halogen molecule contains two atoms, its relative molecular mass is twice the relative atomic mass of its element.
