Revise: Metals as ConductorsIn electrical conduction, delocalised electrons carry electrical charge through the metal. In thermal conduction, they transfer energy from hotter regions to cooler regions. A metal can conduct thermal energy without being connected to an electrical circuit: a temperature difference, rather than an electrical supply, drives the energy transfer.
