Revise: Heart and blood vesselsThis is a double circulatory system because blood passes through the heart twice in one complete circuit. Blood loses pressure as it passes through the small vessels in the lungs. Returning it to the heart allows its pressure to be raised before it is sent around the body, helping deliver oxygen quickly to cells.
