Revise: Speed, distance–time graphs and measuring speedThe total time includes any stops: stopping does not add distance, but it does add time and therefore reduces the average speed.
Use total distance divided by total time for average speed, including any time spent stopped. Do not simply average the speeds of different parts of a journey.
