Boar’s-tusk helmet

Boar’s-tusk helmets incorporated tusk pieces attached to a leather or felt cap. They combined an organic foundation with harder protective material. Bronze greaves protected the shins, while linen gaiters—wrappings around the lower legs—also appear in frescoes.
