When asked to suggest values, give actual numbers with units where the context provides enough information; do not write only “use a wide range”.
Justify the range by explaining why its lowest and highest values are safe, measurable and likely to reveal the relationship being tested.
Do not present a fixed rule such as “always use five values”. The appropriate number depends on the investigation.
