Revise: Flame PhotometryA calibration curve answers “how much of this ion is present?”, whereas comparison with reference data answers “which metal ion is present?”
When identifying an ion, compare the complete pattern of lines or peaks with the reference data, not just one similar feature.
If asked to evaluate data, comment on relevant features such as agreement with reference data, anomalous points, scatter and whether the unknown lies within the calibration range.
