Revise: Production of NPK FertilisersAmmonia can also be used to manufacture nitric acid, which supplies nitrate and can be used to treat phosphate rock. This links ammonia production to later stages of fertiliser manufacture without requiring every NPK product to contain the same nitrogen salt.
For phosphate rock, match each acid to its products: nitric acid gives calcium nitrate and phosphoric acid; sulfuric acid gives single superphosphate; phosphoric acid gives triple superphosphate.
