Revise: Production of NPK FertilisersAmmonia made by the Haber process provides a starting point for nitrogen compounds. It can react with acids to make ammonium salts: for example, ammonia and nitric acid make ammonium nitrate. Ammonia can also be used to manufacture nitric acid, which supplies nitrate and can be used to treat phosphate rock.
