Revise: Recycling ProcessesMany drinks bottles are made from PET, a polymer that is also used to make polyester fibre. The material can therefore be recycled for a different use: a bottle can become thread for clothing or carpet.

Revise: Recycling PETMany drinks bottles are made from PET, or polyethylene terephthalate. When a drink has been finished, the bottle might be reused as a bottle or its plastic might be recycled into a different product. These are not the same process.
Name both the original product and its different use: a PET drinks bottle can become polyester clothing.
Link viability to the new product’s requirements. Fibre can be made from recycled PET that may not be clean enough to make another bottle.
Distinguish reusing a bottle from recycling its PET: reuse keeps the bottle intact; recycling processes the plastic into material for another product.
