Revise: Applications of NanoparticlesA small mass of nanoparticulate material can therefore provide a large exposed surface. In some applications this improves performance or means that less material is required. Nanoparticles are not automatically better, however: the useful property must match the job, and cost and safety also matter.

Revise: Properties and Uses of NanoparticlesNanoparticulate materials contain particles roughly 1–100 nm across. Their usefulness is not simply that they are small: making particles this small can change how much of a material is exposed to its surroundings, while the arrangement of atoms can give a particular nanostructure its own properties.
Do not assume every nanoparticulate material has the same properties. Carbon nanotubes have a particular structure that gives them particular uses.
