Revise: Condensation PolymersIt shows the essential change: an ester link forms and water is eliminated.
When explaining why a polyester is a condensation polymer, state both defining features: monomers join to form a polymer and a small molecule, water, is eliminated each time an ester link forms.
Recognise an ester link as within the polymer chain; do not confuse it with an alcohol group or a carboxylic acid group.
