Revise: Stomata: Structure, Function and MicroscopyTiny pores called stomata allow gases to pass between the air and the spaces inside the leaf. Stoma means one pore; stomata means more than one. Each pore is bordered by a pair of guard cells.

Do not describe stomata as cells. They are pores, each controlled by surrounding guard cells.
When explaining the pathway, give the stages in order: absorption at the roots → movement through xylem → evaporation from moist mesophyll-cell surfaces → diffusion through leaf air spaces and stomata.
Do not confuse stomata, which are pores, with guard cells, which control whether the pores are open.
