Revise: Glucose UtilizationA plant can convert glucose into insoluble starch. Because starch is insoluble, it can be stored in plant tissues, including roots, stems and leaves. When glucose is later needed—for example, when photosynthesis is not occurring—the stored starch can be broken down to provide glucose.
