Revise: Antibody ApplicationsYet monoclonal antibodies have caused more side effects than first expected, so they have not become as widely used as hoped. Treatments can also be costly and difficult to develop. Their possible benefit must therefore be weighed against side effects, practical difficulties and ethical concerns, including the use of animals in developing some antibodies.
