Revise: Sampling Techniques and Species AbundanceIn order, the middle count is 3, so the median is 3; the most frequent count is 3, so the mode is also 3. If there is an even number of counts, find the mean of the two middle values. If no count occurs more often than the others, there is no mode.

The middle value of an ordered set of measurements; half the values lie below it and half lie above it.
The 50th percentile is the median, not a target that every child should reach.

The 50th percentile is the median: half of the reference population has a lower measurement and half has a higher one. It is not an ideal value that every child should follow. Healthy children naturally occur on many different percentile lines.
