Revise: Protist DiseasesMalaria is caused by malarial protists belonging to the genus Plasmodium. It can cause repeated episodes of fever and shaking, can seriously weaken a person and may be fatal.
Do not call the mosquito the pathogen: the malarial protist is the pathogen, while the mosquito is the vector.
