Revise: Hormonal Interaction in Menstrual CycleThe four key hormones are FSH, oestrogen, LH and progesterone. FSH and LH are released by the pituitary gland. Oestrogen and progesterone are released by the ovaries.

For an ‘explain’ question, link hormones with causal verbs: FSH stimulates oestrogen secretion; oestrogen inhibits FSH and stimulates LH; LH triggers ovulation; progesterone inhibits FSH and LH.
State both the source and the effect of each hormone where relevant: FSH and LH come from the pituitary gland, whereas oestrogen and progesterone come from the ovaries.
If interpreting a hormone graph, use the sequence of peaks: oestrogen rises before the sharp LH surge, while progesterone rises after ovulation.
