Revise: Type 1 DiabetesA person may take daily insulin injections or use an insulin pump, a small device attached to the body that releases insulin. This replacement insulin allows blood glucose concentration to be controlled and is essential for a person with type 1 diabetes.
When explaining control, state that insulin must be replaced by injections or an insulin pump. A balanced diet and physical activity help management but do not replace insulin.
