Revise: Extreme EnvironmentsAn extreme environment may be very hot, very cold, dry, windy, waterlogged or poorly lit. The important question is therefore not simply whether a habitat seems extreme to us, but which resource or condition limits the plant.
Avoid claiming that all plants in extreme environments have small leaves. Small or needle-shaped leaves suit water-scarce conditions, whereas broad leaves can help plants capture scarce light.
