Revise: Skin and ThermoregulationBeneath it, the dermis contains blood vessels and sweat glands. Blood flowing through vessels near the skin surface can transfer heat to the surroundings. Sweat glands release sweat through ducts onto the surface; when the sweat evaporates, it takes thermal energy from the skin and cools it.
