1.2.b. Applying the principles of training
• Define the elements of the FITT principle (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type) and apply them structurally to personal exercise and training programs. • Describe the definitions, characteristics, and practical applications of various training types, including continuous, fartlek, and interval training (such as circuit training, weight training, plyometrics, and HIIT). • Analyze the key components of an effective warm-up (pulse raising, mobility, stretching, dynamic movements, skill rehearsal) and provide relevant practical examples. • Evaluate the physical and physiological benefits of a warm-up, including muscle preparation, increased core body temperature, elevated heart rate, improved flexibility and pliability, enhanced blood and oxygen flow, and increased speed of muscle contraction. • Analyze the key components of an effective cool-down (low-intensity exercise, stretching) and provide relevant practical examples. • Evaluate the physical and physiological benefits of a cool-down, including assisting the body's transition to a resting state, lowering heart and breathing rates, reducing temperature, maintaining blood circulation, removing lactic acid, and reducing muscle soreness and stiffness.
