Paper 1 reading questions
What you need to know

Why the top level needs three reasons, each with an example from the given lines, why naming a technique without a judgement earns nothing, and keeping each answer short within Section A's 1 hour 10 minutes.
The worked example uses two linked texts about exercise and getting fit, both printed in the lesson: Text 1, the introduction to Eugen Sandow's fitness guide 'Strength and How to Obtain It' (1897), and Text 2, from William Blaikie's 'How to Get Strong and How to Stay So' (1883), which argues for physical education in every school.
What separates the levels, in our own words, and a model answer with the level and mark an examiner would give, and why.

Sentence starters for the question and a short checklist of the steps, for students aiming at Grade 4 and above.
