Revise: Rates of Change CalculationsA rate expresses a quantity relative to another quantity. For example, an annual birth rate can describe the number of births during a year for every 1,000 people in the population. Putting figures on a common scale helps us compare different years or populations of different sizes.
Rates of change formulae will be given in the question. Use the stated numerator, denominator and multiplier rather than assuming every rate uses the same formula.
Interpret your answer using the event, population scale and time period. A rate per 1,000 people is not a percentage.
