Revise: InteractionismThe typical offender is a stereotype: an image of the sort of person assumed likely to commit crime. It commonly presents offenders as young, male and working-class, and often as coming from an ethnic minority background. Interactionists examine how this image influences decisions; they do not treat it as proof that members of these groups are criminal.
