Cultural diversity concerns differences in families' beliefs and values. These may be associated with ethnic, religious or other cultural backgrounds. They can influence expectations about marriage, gender roles, bringing up children and responsibilities towards older relatives.

Avoid assuming that everyone in a country shares identical norms and values. Cultural diversity exists within societies as well as between them.
