Revise: Forgiveness in JudaismTeshuva means ‘return’ and refers to repentance: turning away from wrongdoing and back towards a right relationship with God and other people. It involves recognising and admitting the wrong, feeling genuine remorse, asking for forgiveness and resolving not to repeat it. Making amends is important where harm can be repaired, for example by returning stolen property or compensating the person harmed.
