Revise: Good, Evil and Suffering in JudaismThe Shoah was the Nazi genocide of Jews, in which approximately six million Jews were murdered. Its devastation of Jewish lives and communities made the philosophical problem intensely concrete: how could a powerful and loving God fail to protect people from organised persecution and murder?
Do not assume that suffering proves someone has sinned, or present the Shoah as deserved punishment.
Avoid treating Jewish responses to the Shoah as one agreed position.
