Paper 1
The Sikh code of conduct, which gives guidance on religious practice and responsibilities, including marriage.
Revise: Relationships in SikhismThe Rehat Maryada, Chapter 11 Article 18, gives responsibilities to both spouses. A husband should love his wife unwaveringly, share what he has, remain loyal and respect her relatives as his own. A wife should remain loyal through joy and sorrow and show the same consideration for his relatives as for hers.
Distinguish marriage outside Sikhism from eligibility for Anand Karaj: the Rehat Maryada restricts the religious ceremony to Sikhs.
