Revise: Seven SacramentsThe Catholic belief in the Real Presence gives a strong reason for calling the Eucharist the source and summit: receiving Christ himself is more than receiving a sign of him. Orthodox belief similarly supports a central place for the Eucharist.

Revise: SacramentsLutherans and many Anglicans affirm Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist without accepting the Catholic explanation of transubstantiation. It would therefore be inaccurate to say that all Protestants regard Communion as only symbolic.
